What is Bijouterie?
Bijouterie is the common name for ornaments made of relatively inexpensive and available materials. Primarily their basis was artificial stones and beads, but today the variety of materials and techniques is much wider. Bijouterie (rings, earrings, necklaces, beads, bracelets, brooches, pendants and many others) is made not only of ceramic, plastic or glass beads, but also of felted, crocheted or knitted elements, leather, fabric, metal or wooden details. Modern bijouterie doesn’t yield to genuine jewelry in the aspects of sophistication, diversity and popularity.
